# OCTO - Open Connectivity for Tours, Activities & Attractions

> OCTO is a non-profit trade body that provides an open API specification for the tours, activities, and attractions industry. The OCTO standard enables technology platforms — booking systems, resellers, channel managers, and marketplaces — to connect with each other through a single, shared integration rather than building custom point-to-point connections.

## What OCTO Does

OCTO solves the fragmentation problem in tours and activities distribution. Without a standard, every booking platform must build and maintain separate integrations with every other platform. OCTO provides one open API spec that any platform can implement, dramatically reducing integration cost, time, and maintenance.
